Turn Off the Hot Tub:
Ensure the hot tub is turned off and unplugged before removing the filter cartridges. This helps to prevent any electrical hazards while cleaning.Remove the Filter Cartridge:
Carefully remove the filter cartridge(s) from the hot tub’s filter compartment. Make sure you have a clean, flat surface to place them on during the cleaning process.Rinse the Filter:
Use a hose to rinse off any large debris or dirt from the filter cartridge before applying the cleaner.Prepare the Cleaner Solution:
Follow the instructions on the filter and cartridge cleaner bottle for the proper dilution ratio (usually a 1:1 ratio of cleaner to water). Fill a bucket or container with the solution.Soak the Filter:
Submerge the filter cartridge(s) in the cleaning solution, ensuring the entire surface is covered. Let the filter soak for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour to allow the cleaner to break down oils, dirt, and contaminants.Scrub the Filter (If Needed):
After soaking, if necessary, use a soft brush (such as a filter cleaning brush) to scrub any remaining stubborn dirt or buildup on the filter. Be gentle to avoid damaging the filter material.Rinse Thoroughly:
Rinse the filter cartridge thoroughly with clean water to remove any remaining cleaning solution and debris. It’s essential to ensure that no cleaner residue remains on the filter.Let the Filter Dry:
Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it back into the hot tub. Avoid using any heat sources like a dryer to speed up the drying process, as it can damage the filter material.Reinstall the Filter:
Once the filter is dry, place it back into the filter compartment, ensuring it’s seated properly for optimal filtration.Note: For best results, clean your hot tub filters every 4-6 weeks, or more frequently if the hot tub is used regularly.
