Test the Water:
Use a water test strip or kit to check the current sanitizer level (chlorine or bromine) and pH of your hot tub water. The ideal sanitizer level is typically between 3-5 ppm, and pH should be between 7.2 and 7.8. Adjust as needed before applying granular shock.Calculate the Amount Needed:
Refer to the product label for specific instructions on how much granular shock to add based on your hot tub’s water volume. Typically, you'll need around 1-2 ounces per 100 gallons of water for a standard shock treatment.Turn On the Jets:
Activate the hot tub jets to help circulate the water and ensure the shock is evenly distributed throughout the water.Add the Granular Shock:
Slowly sprinkle the recommended amount of granular shock directly into the water, preferably around the perimeter of the hot tub to ensure even distribution.Wait and Re-Test:
Allow the water to circulate for at least 15-30 minutes. Afterward, re-test the sanitizer level to ensure it is within the desired range. If necessary, add more granular shock in small increments until the desired level is reached.Wait Before Using the Hot Tub:
